This mower/tractor was submerged in 3.5 feet of storm surge, when i went to abandon my house i looked back noticed my Cadet still standing on the side of the garage i said to my self if it starts ill drive it out sure enough it made it through 200 yards of storm surge to safety with my dog. I have owned this mower and used it in multiple other storms it actually made me a couple grand and paid for its self with the trailer wagon attachment pulling logs and debris from previous hurricane and helped all my old neighbors clean and clear they're yards from downed trees. I have put this tractor through way more than its inteded use outside of just being a day to day lawn mower and its always just kept going with next to no issues. The scratches on the hood lid are from the second hurricane Milton. I strapped it down in the bed of my tuck and pointed the truck into the direction the wind was supposed to come. To my surprise the winds hit the condominiums and ended up doing a 180 bouncing off the buildings and ripped it out of my truck and sent it hundreds of yards down the road. In the eye of the storm i ran out while it was dead calm. i thought after this it had to have died from the rain pouring on the engine but to my surprise it fired right up as always and while my house is getting back to normal its back to cutting grass perfectly. This one belongs in a museum . They still Sell good equipment in the states and this one is bullet proof thanks to the builders.
I am a fan of Cub Cadet garden tractor. My grandfather had an International Cub Cadet from around 1965 and have found memories of him using it to blow snow into large mounds for us kids to play on; and pulling us around in a trailer (mid 1970s so different times) around the neighborhood in a rural town in MN; and me using it to mow the lawn at the cottage. It still runs to this day but another family member has it. I now live in NE Florida and am 55 years old - the time of pushing a mower around in 95 degree heat has come to an end. So when I decided to buy a riding mower I just had to buy a Cub Cadet. I do wish the mower deck had rear anti-scraping wheels though. I also wish the motor would continue to run when I get off of it to empty the bags. I can understand the blades disengaging, but do not understand why the engine has to shut off. This is a bad design (safety feature) as the engine keeps having to shut off and start up. Please fix this issue; I see no reason for the engine to shut off when not sitting on it. Put it in neutral and engage parking brake should be sufficient safety.
I had the pleasure of test driving this model today and I was a little intimidated but when I got it started, it turned out I had nothing to worry about. This mower is an easy to use, comfortable, sleek an efficient unit that boasts a wide array of features that I really appreciated.
I bought directly from the manufacturer because I read about horrible deliveries from retailers. Assembly was easier than I thought it would be. Started on the first crank. Cuts like a dream.
Blades are made of poor steel, on second cutting with brand new Lawn Tractor one blsde bent, straightened it out and it bent again in high grass, replaced them and have no issues since
