Use to own a John Deere tractor but it had so many problems. I was thinking about getting another but thought about checking into a Cub Cadet, talked to people that own one, read reviews, did some online comparing. Also own a cub cadet tiller and its great no problems. Well glad i did all that and bought the cadet. No more John Deere for me. I bought the XT1 tractor and let me tell you this tractor is the best, can't believe I waited this long to get one. This tractor is a beast. It cuts really good, it handles inclines with no problems, has great speed, turning feels like power steering like a zero turning tractor. It throws clipping out of the chute like a mile, The ride is a little bumpy but its a tractor. My John Deere was a little loud and this one is not as loud. Also like that when you set the cutting deck to the height you want that's what your going to get not scalping the lawn. Just a few issues when I bought it but I Fixed when I got it home. I'm sure it was done at the store when they assembly the tractor there. The steering wheel put on wrong, the bolts to the seat have a piece of plastic that fits into the bracket to keep the seat from rocking they were crushed and hanging out, the connector for the headlights not plugged in, the plastic hood (top & bottom) where they meet at the front didn't line up do to putting it together wrong. All this was a easy fix for me as I can do this kind of work but some others that might not be able to perform this might want to check these out before they buy. All in all this is a awesome tractor and I will stick with this brand for the great product this is. They hit the mark with this tractor way to go. Loving to cut the grass again.

I didn't take my machine for a test drive before buying but I did research comparable machines and learned every detail before making my choice to buy the Cub XT1-LT46. I was hands on with the machines I had considered and went over everything I needed and wanted in a new machine. The Cub Had it. More HP, larger deck, more standard features, better warranty. The only thing that wasn't more was the price so getting more for less is always a win. This doesn't mean you Cub cheaped out. I sat in the seat of all the machines and from the seat to the steering wheel to the foot controls and the deck controls everything was built more comfortable and in my opinion better. A couple of the comparisons I made to the competition were the reverse pedal on the Cub was cut from flat steel and welded to the control arm were the competitor was made of plastic. When I noticed that the rear fenders and the steel body had a rolled edge all the way around then I made my positive decision to take it home.

Home is in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and I don't cut a city lot. My lawn is large by huge and I needed something that will hold up. I don't plan to abuse it but everything in my shed works hard to earn its place there, the Cub XT1-LT46 is no exception.

Handles great, tackling everything I've thrown at it so far (5hrs only). Loving it so far, just wish there were handles on the side next to the seats. (which almost made me go with another brand).

Setup for the dead man switch under the seat was actually hard to understand from the directions --- had to youtube that. And be warned about getting it delivered on a crate... if you don't have saws and power screwdrivers handy (and are relatively handy), it will be difficult. I recommend unscrewing and removing what wood you can, then cutting away everything around the front wheels and getting those to sit on the ground (initially they are raised). Then you can throw it into neutral with the lever on the back, and lift the back wheels up and over the last piece of wood pushing the mower forward (the back is relatively light to lever given most weight is in the engine)

I bought this mower over two months ago and I am so pleased with the purchase that I am beside myself. I’ve had several other brand riding mowers over the years and this one is hands-down the superior product. The tight turning radius let me get into all the corners of my yard. The ease of steering is remarkable. Seat is super comfortable the mower is relatively quiet or the size of the mower engine. I’ve come to enjoy my morning sessions instead of dreading the chore, in fact I’ve mowed my neighbors yard several times just because I enjoy riding the machine. The quality of the build and materials used is noticeably better than other competitors products in the same price range. I would highly recommend Cub cadet to anyone who is serious about purchasing a riding mower.

I used my new XT1 46" for the first time today. Couple of "concerns/complaints". First of all, a lot of the grass clippings blow out from under the FRONT of the deck before they ever get to the bagger. This creates clouds clippings, dust and/or everything blowing out the front no matter if the bags are totally empty or full.....does it all the time. My other gripe is that the quick connector that snaps on to the deck for undercarriage washing leaks in the spce between the connector and the top of the deck surface. Tried it several times but it still leaks badly. Any "fixes" for either of these problems?
