I bought it a year ago and have used it for an entire season. I have over 4.5 open acres to mow and upkeep. This machine was used several times weekly, and it handled it well. I am impressed. The tight turning radius made it easy to navigate around the numerous fruit trees and bushes. It was the correct purchase for my needs. I decided on this machine in part due to its Kohler engine and fabricated/welded 50" mowing deck. I bought the bagger and use the grass and fall-time leaf clippings to mulch the garden and add to the compost bin. This is a tough machine that can handle tough tasks.
Love it. It is, honestly, fun to drive. Eazy to use. Smooth ride, even on the inclines in our yard. We have about 3/4 acre and it takes about an hour, if that. Probably would do faster but the fastest setting is a big fast for me. Wouldnt be so bad if you have more land or more flat land. My our property is not level at all. Love the possibilty of the attachments. We started just with the mower but we plan to get a snow plow attachment this winter and probably more in the future. We dont have a shed ao we keep it outside with a cover. So far it's holding up great. Highly recommend.
I chose Cub Cadet because I purchased a Cub Cadet push mower 8 years ago that was guaranteed to start within the second pull for one year. Well 8 years later and it still starts within two pulls.
And this new tractor mower starts quick and easily as well. But mostly the pulling power and easy to ride. I have a lot of hills and I weigh 200 pounds. But that is no problem for this tractor.
The cut looks very nice too. No distinct marks between cutting blades on the lawn and not once did it scalp the lawn when hitting a pot hole or hump in the hard.
This is a great mower don't hesitate to buy one. Purchased online from Home Depot and arrived in a crate with very little assembly and prep needed. The hood is plastic and feels cheap but most everything is nowadays. What's important is the frame, engine and deck and it exceeds my expectations on all 3 of those. It's well built and seems made to last. It is a definite upgrade over the 20 year old Craftsman rider it replaced. I have cut my mowing time in half. The Kohler engine is impressive with plenty of power. Happy with this purchase.
Got it 3 weeks ago from Home Depot while it was still available. It replaced my 10 years old 1040 Cub Cadet and not a single regret. After using it 4 times with 2.6 hours on the clock, I can say that this machine makes excellent cut and is FAST. It looks very nice too. Only area that I would see some improvement would be the gas consumption. It is loud but it is to be expected with a 24HP motor and triple blade. I was contemplating on a mulch kit but it seems unnecessary. The clips are chopped pretty good with side discharge.
